These terms (the “Agreement”) are the rules for using ProfilePro, including our website, web app, mobile experience and any related features such as profiles, business pages, jobs, applications, interviews, messaging, workspaces, contracts, wallets and verification (together, the “Service”). Please read them carefully. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to this Agreement and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. About this Agreement

ProfilePro (“ProfilePro”, “we”, “us”, “our”) provides an online platform where professionals, businesses and clients can present themselves, find each other, hire and get hired, and manage the work that follows.

This Agreement is a binding contract between you and ProfilePro. It applies from the moment you create an account or start using the Service, and it stays in force for as long as you use the Service.

  • “You” means the person using the Service, and, where you act for a company or other organisation, that organisation as well.
  • “Professional” means a person who uses the Service to present their skills and look for work or clients.
  • “Business” or “Client” means a company, organisation or person who uses the Service to post jobs, hire or pay for work.
  • “Content” means anything you post, upload or send on the Service, including profile details, photos, documents, job posts, messages and reviews.
  • “Contract” means an agreement for work that is made between users through the Service.
2. Who can use ProfilePro

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract under the laws that apply to you. If you use the Service for a business, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that business to this Agreement.

You must not use the Service if you have been barred from it before, if the law prohibits you from using it, or if you would be using it to avoid a previous suspension or removal.

3. Your account
  • Give accurate, current and complete information when you register and keep it up to date, including your name, email address and phone number.
  • You may have only one personal account. Business profiles are created from your personal account and can be managed by other people you add as admins.
  • You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. Keep your password and any verification codes private, and use two-factor authentication where it is offered.
  • Tell us straight away through the Help Center if you think someone has accessed your account without permission.
  • You may not sell, rent, transfer or share your account, or let someone else sign in as you.

We may ask you to confirm your email address or phone number, or to complete additional checks, before you can use certain features.

4. What ProfilePro is, and what it is not

ProfilePro is a platform that helps people and businesses find and work with each other. Unless a written contract with us says otherwise, ProfilePro is not an employer, recruiter, staffing agency, employment agent, payment institution or party to any agreement between users.

  • We do not guarantee that you will receive job offers, interviews, hires, clients, work or any level of income.
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy, quality, safety or legality of any profile, job post, business, contract or user, even where a verification badge is shown.
  • Decisions to hire, to accept work, to pay or to be paid are made by users, who are responsible for them.
  • Search, ranking and recommendation features are automated aids. They can be wrong and they do not amount to advice or an endorsement.
5. Profiles and business pages
  • Everything you put on a profile or business page must be true, current and not misleading. This includes your identity, experience, education, certifications, employers, results and the existence and size of a business.
  • You may only create a business page for a business you own or are authorised to represent. Admins you add can act for the page, and you are responsible for what they do.
  • You control how visible your Professional profile is through Settings. Some information, such as your name, headline and public work history, may be visible to other users and, where you allow it, to search engines.
  • We may remove or edit profile content that breaks this Agreement or the law, and we may merge or remove duplicate or fake profiles.
6. Verification and the verified badge

ProfilePro offers optional verification checks. They are designed to help users trust one another.

  • Bank account (Tier 1). You confirm the bank account you are paid into. The account name should match the name on your profile.
  • Face check (Tier 2). You take a live selfie so we can confirm it is really you.
  • Identity (Tier 3). You upload a valid government-issued identity document so we can confirm your name.
  • Business (CAC RC number). You submit a business’s registration number and confirm that you are authorised to verify it.

By submitting a verification you confirm that the information and documents are genuine, belong to you (or to the business you represent) and are not altered. You consent to us, and to the service providers we use, processing them to carry out the check as described in the Privacy Policy.

Verification is reviewed by people and by automated checks, so it takes time and we do not promise a fixed turnaround. We may approve, reject, request more information or withdraw verification at any time, for example if documents turn out to be false, expired or no longer match your profile.

A verification badge confirms that certain identity checks were completed. It is not a recommendation, a guarantee of skill or reliability, or a guarantee of how someone will behave. Submitting false or forged documents is a serious breach of this Agreement and may be reported to the authorities.

7. Jobs, applications and hiring
  • Job posts must describe a real opportunity, be accurate about the role, location, pay and requirements, and be lawful.
  • Do not charge applicants any fee, deposit or payment for applying, for interviews, for training, for equipment or for a placement.
  • Do not post roles that discriminate unlawfully, that ask for sensitive information you do not need, or that are really advertisements, schemes or attempts to collect personal data.
  • Applicants must be truthful in applications and must not apply on behalf of someone else without permission.
  • Hirers who receive applications may use the information only to assess and contact candidates and must handle it as the Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection law require.
  • Posting a job, applying, being shortlisted or being interviewed does not create an employment relationship with ProfilePro.
8. Contracts and doing the work

You can use ProfilePro to record the terms of work in a Contract, including scope, price, deadlines and milestones, and to manage it while it is in progress.

  • A Contract is between the users who agree to it. ProfilePro is not a party to it and is not responsible for its performance.
  • Read the whole Contract before accepting it. Once it is accepted, both sides are expected to keep to it.
  • Changes to scope, price or deadlines should be agreed and recorded before work continues.
  • Unless the Contract says otherwise, the person doing the work keeps their pre-existing intellectual property, and rights in the finished work pass to the client only as the Contract provides and once any agreed payment has been made.
  • Independent professionals are responsible for their own taxes, licences, insurance and compliance with the laws that apply to their work.

If you disagree with someone about a Contract, try to resolve it directly first. You can ask the Help Center for guidance, but we cannot decide who is right or force either side to act.

9. Wallet, payments and fees
  • The wallet shows balances and transaction history related to your activity on ProfilePro. Where payments are handled by payment or banking partners, their terms also apply to those payments.
  • Pay-outs go only to a bank account in your own name (or in the name of the business you represent) that you have added and verified.
  • Fees, if any, are shown to you before you confirm a payment or upgrade. We may change fees for future transactions after giving notice.
  • You are responsible for any taxes that apply to money you receive or pay.
  • We may delay, hold, reverse or refuse a transaction, and may restrict a wallet, if we reasonably suspect fraud, money laundering, a security problem, a mistake, an unresolved dispute or a breach of this Agreement or the law. We may be required to share information with regulators and law enforcement.
  • You must not use the Service to move money that comes from crime, to avoid sanctions or to evade tax.
  • If you pay by card or bank transfer, you confirm that you are allowed to use that payment method.

Plans and subscriptions are explained on the Plan page in Settings. Unless you have chosen a paid plan, your account is on the Free plan and no automatic charge applies.

10. Your content and the licence you give us

You own the Content you post. You are responsible for it, and you confirm that you have the right to post it and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights or break the law.

To run the Service, you give ProfilePro a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, format, translate and distribute your Content on and through the Service, including in search results, notifications and sharing features you choose to use. This licence lasts while your Content is on the Service and for a reasonable period afterwards for backups and legal reasons, and it ends for Content you delete except where it has been shared with others, or where we must keep it by law.

If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything.

11. Community standards and acceptable use

We expect everyone to be respectful and honest. You must not:

  • Impersonate any person or business, or misstate your identity, qualifications or affiliation.
  • Post false, fraudulent, misleading, defamatory, hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit or violent content.
  • Discriminate against or harass people because of their race, ethnicity, gender, religion, disability, age, sexual orientation or any other protected characteristic.
  • Run scams, pyramid or advance-fee schemes, or ask for payment for jobs, interviews or placements.
  • Send spam, bulk or unsolicited messages, chain messages or unauthorised advertising.
  • Collect or scrape data about other users, or use the Service to build lists for purposes other than hiring and working together.
  • Share another person’s private information without their permission.
  • Upload viruses or other harmful code, or probe, test or bypass our security or access controls.
  • Use bots, scripts or other automated means to use the Service, except through tools we provide.
  • Interfere with the Service, overload it, or reverse engineer, copy or resell any part of it.
  • Use the Service for anything unlawful, or to help others do so.
12. Messages, calls and shared workspaces
  • Messages, calls, interviews, boards and workspaces are for legitimate hiring and work. Do not record or share a conversation or call in a way the law or the other person’s reasonable expectations forbid.
  • Content shared in a workspace or board can be seen by the people with access to it. Only add people you trust and remove access when work ends.
  • We do not routinely read private messages. We may review them where needed to investigate a report, keep the Service safe, comply with the law or protect rights.
13. Search and recommendations

We use automated systems to rank search results and to suggest jobs, people and opportunities. These can use information from your profile and your activity on the Service. You can control whether your activity is used to personalise what you see from Settings, under Privacy and safety. Recommendations may be incomplete or wrong, and the order in which results appear is not a statement about anyone’s quality.

14. ProfilePro’s intellectual property

The Service, including its design, software, text, graphics, logos and trademarks, belongs to ProfilePro or its licensors and is protected by law. We give you a limited, personal, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the Service as permitted by this Agreement. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or lease any part of it, or use our name or logo without our written permission.

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright or other rights, tell us through the Help Center with enough detail to identify the content and your claim, and we will review it.

15. Third-party services and links

The Service may link to, or work with, services that are not ours, such as payment, banking, identity, messaging or hosting providers. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices. Your use of them is covered by their own terms and privacy policies.

16. Reports, enforcement, suspension and ending your account
  • You can report content, a profile or behaviour you think is unsafe or breaks this Agreement from the Help Center.
  • We may remove content, limit features, suspend or close accounts, or withhold verification if we reasonably believe this Agreement has been broken, that someone is at risk, or that we must do so by law. Where we can and it is safe, we will tell you why.
  • You can stop using the Service and deactivate or delete your account at any time from Settings, under Your account.
  • When an account closes, your right to use the Service ends. Contracts and payment obligations that already exist stay in force between the people who made them, and some information is kept as the Privacy Policy explains.
  • Sections that by their nature should continue after the account closes, such as those about content, disclaimers, limits of liability, indemnity, governing law and disputes, will continue.
17. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we do not make any promises that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or free from errors, that content is accurate, or that it will meet your needs. We do not give legal, tax, financial or employment advice. Nothing in this Agreement removes rights you have under consumer-protection law that cannot be excluded.

18. Limits of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, ProfilePro and its owners, officers, employees and partners are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or for lost profits, income, business, data or goodwill, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service, or from anything users do or fail to do.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid ProfilePro in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in this Agreement limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

19. Your responsibility for claims

You agree to compensate and defend ProfilePro and its owners, officers, employees and partners against claims, losses, damages and reasonable costs that arise from your Content, your breach of this Agreement or the law, your dealings with other users, or your misuse of the Service.

20. Disputes between users

You are responsible for your dealings with other users. ProfilePro is not a party to them and has no duty to settle disputes, although we may, at our discretion, review reports and take action on accounts. If you have a dispute with another user, contact them first, check your Contract and keep your records.

21. Governing law and resolving disagreements with us

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If you have a complaint, please contact us through the Help Center first so we can try to resolve it informally. If we cannot, the courts of Nigeria will have jurisdiction, unless the law of your country gives you the right to bring a claim somewhere else.

22. Changes to the Service and to this Agreement

We improve the Service often and may add, change or remove features. We may update this Agreement from time to time. If a change is significant, we will give you notice, for example in the app, by email or by showing a notice on this page, before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after the change takes effect, you accept the updated Agreement. If you do not accept it, you should stop using the Service and close your account.

23. Notices

We may give you notices by email, by notification in the app or by posting them on the Service. You are responsible for keeping your contact details up to date. You can give us notice through the Help Center.

24. General terms
  • Entire agreement. This Agreement and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
  • If a part is unenforceable. If a part of this Agreement cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
  • No waiver. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up.
  • Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under this Agreement. We may transfer ours, for example in a merger or sale of the business.
  • Language. This Agreement is written in English. Any translation is only for convenience.
25. Contact us

Questions about this Agreement, or anything else, can go through the Help Center, where you can also message our team on WhatsApp.
